Hello, I’m Felicity!

I’m a satisfaction coach and yoga teacher who is here to empower you to live your happiest, healthiest and most satisfied life. I’ve been where you are. I was living a seemingly happy life of pleasure, but I didn’t feel fulfilled. My life was full of fun but felt empty. I couldn’t put my finger on what was wrong. It was like when you have a stone in your shoe – you can try to ignore it but every now and then it niggles again.

Because “Life is ok” is not good enough!

As I dug deeper into the concept of ‘happiness’, I found that it wasn’t quite the right word for how I wanted to feel. I had been searching for a deeper kind of happiness, one that both embraced the joy of the present moment and the desire for a better life and a better world. ‘Satisfaction’ was the word that ticked the boxes and that seemed to sum up everything that Felicity had been learning and implementing in her own life.

Despite feeling a deep affinity to the word ‘happiness’, I started to realise that it didn’t truly represent the way I wanted myself and my clients to feel. I had been searching for a deeper kind of happiness, one that both embraced the joy of the present moment and the desire for a better life and a better world. ‘Contentment’ implied a sense of just accepting the world as it is without feeling that anything can change. ‘Fulfilment’ came close but lacked punch. Instead, ‘Satisfaction’ was the word that ticked the boxes and that seemed to sum up everything that I had been learning and implementing.

I passionately believe that the world is not working. Or more to the point it IS working, but not in a way that works. We have created a society where it is expected that we slog away for hours / days / months in a job that doesn’t fulfil us and / or causes us great stress and anxiety. In return, we get just a couple of days rest a week. But these two days “rest” are no longer restful. We’ve been conditioned to believe we should always be doing something or being somewhere. And this is not even bearing in mind the maintenance of our lives outside of work – cleaning, cooking, looking after children, house-keeping…

We find ourselves close to burn out and desperate to “get away from it all” on our two weeks on a beach. But wouldn’t it be better for life to bring us satisfaction every day? Why should we wait until the weekend / the summer holiday / retirement for a taste of joy and happiness?

I want people to wake up in the morning looking forward to their day. To feel motivated about their role in society and their place in the world, ready to take on whatever life throws at them. To feel organised and prepared for what lies ahead. And to feel resilient and flexible enough to respond to any curveballs that come their way.

I want people to go sleep feeling like they’ve had a good day. To know that they have made the best of the time that was available to them. To feel grateful for the opportunity of life. To have found some joys in their present moments throughout the day. And knowing that there is nothing they can do about tomorrow until they are rested.

I want to help people reach their full potential in life. I believe everyone has the potential to change the world with a few small but radical changes. I know there are so many people out there who have a moan about the news or on social media but don’t know how or what to do themselves. Almost everyone thinks “what can little old me do?” I want people to feel empowered and inspired to be the best person they can be and to really make an impact, even in a small way.

I want people to reach a state of contented calmness in life. To accept that there is no perfect and that, sometimes, that’s ok. In fact, most of the time that’s ok! To accept that there are things that cannot be changed and that there is nothing to be gained from ruminating over them. To be able to appreciate and savour the amazing things that are in their lives and to gain joy from the journey.

This is bigger than the individual, but the only thing we can effectively change is ourselves.

We need to A.C.T.S.

Assess & Accept

Until we accept our current situation we cannot change it. Acceptance isn’t necessarily about rolling over and saying everything is ok. It’s about not arguing with the reality of the situation you find yourself in. You will instantly feel better!

Choose the Change

Now we know what the situation is, we can assess what we can change and what we can’t. And we can always change something. Whether it’s a practical change or a change of mindset, if something isn’t right, something needs to change.

Take Action!

Seems obvious right? The only reason why this step seems so difficult is because we’ve not prepared the ground. Finding clarity on our situation and what we can and should change makes this step far easier and can even make it enjoyable.

Savour in Satisfaction

You’ll be amazed how many people forget this bit! What’s the point in putting all that work into changing things if you’re not going to spend time savouring the result? It’s vital to stop and take in the view before jumping into another assessment.
